Feminism…..

When people hear that word, they think of a lesbian holding a sign saying “Men are the worst” lol that’s not a feminist. Feminist, if you look up the definition, means someone who believes in the equality of men and women. SOMEONE not a specified gender. I believe this term has a negative connotation because most men like the double standards of our society. They feel threatened when a woman wants the same standards as them. And if they are insecure, of course they will be threatened. Only insecure men believe in this double standard or they were raised in that way so it’s ingrained in their brain. I mean, why else would some men feel the right to even voice an opinion on woman’s issues such as abortion for example. Abortion only takes place in one genders’ body and that should be the only gender to choose what happens because raising a child is a life changing situation.

Basically a feminist wants EVERYONE to be on the same page. The biggest misconception is also that a feminist only cares about women’s equality but they only emphasize that because men already have their equality. Feminist are basically speaking for those who haven’t had a voice for a LONG time. Women have a loving and nurturing temperament at heart, regardless of how we are perceived. Think of your mother, or a motherly figure in your life and maybe you can view other women as such. If you are in the presence of a disrespectful or toxic woman, just remove yourself rather than act and end up in jail. But, most women will always support those that they love so if you have a woman in your life that you love and respect, make sure she gets the shine she deserves and always knows how important she is!
