Are you a giver, taker or both?

It can be difficult to come to a conclusion to this question depending on who you ask (including yourself.) It can also vary on a person’s mood or their general temperament. Personally, I am both but I am way more of a giver. I feel that I only take when it comes to my necessities. Let me be clear when I say TAKE, I mean those who don’t mind receiving things without reciprocating. And sometimes you don’t always HAVE to return the favor because some things should be done out of the goodness of someone’s heart. When I say GIVE, I am referring to those who don’t mind supplying a need or want to someone else whether it’s a loved one, friend or stranger. They don’t look for anything back because they either planned or decided to do a good deed.

Balance is key in every situation that you encounter. Without balance, things in your soul would be out of whack. (P.S. If you are experiencing an “out of whackness” or “funk”, your soul is crying out for help and you have to balance your energy and mind frame otherwise you will continue to self-destruct.) Overstand that enjoying the journey of exploring this balance is an incredible emotion that is unexplainable. During the process, you can learn so much about yourself that surprise and challenge your very own ideals and rules that you stand by. Expanding your comfort zone will be an up and down ride but I can promise you that you won’t regret it! So, if you are usually a giver try being a taker on certain occasions when you would have the courage to do so. For example, if your friend typically wants to pay when you have lunch and you both argue because you want to pay it, let them just have the victory of treating you to lunch. You deserve some little pleasures throughout your journey. If you are usually a taker try being a giver especially to someone who wouldn’t expect it from you. Opening your heart in these ways can yield satisfying results.
